Thank you for this information. my son was born on august 17th and i am planning on doing his mundan in the 11th month. But Iam a lil confused ---should I be doing it between july 17th to aug 17th ot between june 17th to july 17th. I would very appreciate any help in this regard as i am trying to book tickets to India.

Thanks for such an interesting piece of information. Hair growth improves a lot after shaving off baby's head. This I have noticed in many babies who had a mundan ceremony. Moreover mundan ceremony has a religious significance also. It is a purifying ritual so I will be following the ritual when my baby is born.

My daughter when born had moderate hair on head. And when she was growing, I noticed uneven growth of hair. Her hairs were very thin also. Her mundan ceremony was done when she was a year old and after that when new hairs came, I could see a denser and more uniform hair growth.

My daughter is now 1.5 years old. She has fine and silky hairs. I was thinking of not having a mundan ceremony but my in-laws are insisting ad I think in a way they are right. This is a tradition and I must follow it and who knows that after mundan, her hairs will be more beautiful.
